Lean is a way of producing, whether it is manufacturing, software or services, that strives to rid the production process of any non-essential activities and outputs. Non-essential being defined as not adding value for the customer.
Lean Bear LLC was founded and is based in Orange County, California. For anyone not familiar with California Republic, the 'bear-flag' is the official flag of the state of California. The bear on this flag was modeled on the last wild grizzly bear in captivity in California in 1889.
A well designed website is a place where form meets function and where the attractiveness plays a key part in conveying the message the website wants to deliver and the usability of the site. Good design is invisible and that means that complexity is hidden, making the site into a seamless, intuitive experience for the user without distractions. The application should adapt to the user and not the other way around. It takes a strong software foundation to support the above principles, which is what Lean Bear does, thanks to years of experience with custom software development and user experience.
Apart from usability and attractiveness, well developed software also needs to have: functionality, accuracy, reliability, robustness, fault tolerance, interoperability, maintainability, scalability, security and performance.
As an IT developer, IT designer and IT project manager I have over 15 years of experience in realizing software that meets those criteria. I am an accredited IT engineer and I received my bachelor degree in Information and Communication Technology from the The Hague University in the Netherlands. I am a member of the Royal Institute of Engineers in the Netherlands and of the IEEE in the USA.
In everyday life, quality means that something is good. In software development, quality is usually defined as "delivering or working according to the customers expectations". Due to the inherent complexity of software it is traditionally difficult for customers to specify all those expectations upfront and that is why software development projects frequently derail.
Having over 15 years of experience in custom software development means I can effectively guide the custom design & development process to make sure the website or web application is delivered according to the demands of the customer. Since the beginning of my career in software development I have applied the ISO/IEC 9126 standards for software quality alongside risk management and rigorous testing practices to ensure high quality applications.
